Welcome to the Month of Screamwriting

Welcome to the Month of October Screamwriting!

Don’t call it. Don’t say its name. The two most petrifying words a screenwriter can write:

FADE IN:

For the entirety of the year’s spookiest month, Atlanta Film Society is sharing events, tips, tidbits, and more on the subject of screenwriting. By October 31st, you’ll look your monster in the face and simply type “FADE OUT.”

Here to help is none other than the marvelous Kathy Berardi. Kathy will be hosting Atlanta Film Society’s first-ever online course for writers of all levels! Whether you’re writing from a coffee house or your bed, Kathy will be with you every step of the way. With provided materials alongside live streams and immediate response time, it’s like being in a room with a professor, but no one will judge you for your bunny slippers. Huzzah!

One week in, October 6-7, Michael Lucker’s Screenwriting School will be taking place at Emory. A two day boot camp for beginning writers to kick start their next project. With a small class size, students interact with one another while experiencing an open environment to facilitate questions and feedback throughout the two-day schedule.

Now it’s time to stop screaming and start writing. You’ll be surprised what’s on the other end of your first draft.
