Atlanta Film Society Names New Programming Director

Though hard at work on its 41st year of programming, the Atlanta Film Society as you know it today employs a small staff whose year-round mainstays began as recently as 2011. One such anchor launched her ATLFS trek by interning that year before becoming Shorts Programmer in 2012. In July of 2016, Christina Humphrey assumed a new role as Programming Director.

"The 40th anniversary Atlanta Film Festival enjoyed record-breaking submission numbers, and the 41st is sure to build on this growth. Christina's heart for filmmakers and knowledge of emerging independent films has become essential to our trajectory as an organization, and we're pleased to see her in such a fitting leadership role," said ATLFS Creative Director Kristy Breneman.

Co-founder of the New Mavericks program and curator of the lauded "Herstory of the Female Filmmaker" shorts block, Christina has a fierce love of intergenre film, a sharp eye for representation, and an affinity for all things artfully made. Join us as we congratulate Christina and continue to follow along with her work!
