ABOUT THE 100 FEET OF FILM PROJECT (2020)
Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) and Kodak are in partnership to present the 100 Feet of Film Project. This project provides a team of filmmakers with the opportunity to maximize their creativity while minimizing the ability to reshoot. Through this project, filmmakers learn to effectively and efficiently shoot on a limited reel of film stock and in the process must focus on the fundamentals of filmmaking.
Participating filmmakers received 100 feet of film stock and approximately 3 months to shoot. In October-December of 2019, one member of each team was able to participate in an “Introduction to 16mm Film” workshop, presented by Kodak Film Lab Atlanta. In January 2020, one member from each team had the opportunity to visit the Kodak film processing lab in Atlanta as they turned in their film stock to be processed. Raw footage was delivered as a digital file in January and filmmakers had approximately one month to edit their final film.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, all participating films screened at the Plaza Theatre Drive-In and Dad’s Garage Drive-In. On August 27, a virtual screening was launched on Eventive that ran for one week.
