Your characters are everything. They are the heart and soul of every movie and television show. They own the emotional attachment of your audience. And, when constructed well, characters become such a dynamic force that they take on a life of their own. This is the ultimate goal. This is what turns a movie from good to great and a show from enjoyable to binge-able. This is what gets your story sold.

When we talk about characters that are story engines, we mean an intricate, thoughtful web of characters that play off each other so well that not just one journey starts to write itself, but that endless journeys write themselves. The characters alone become the engine of the stories and the possibilities for them, and for you as their writer, are endless. In this class, you will learn everything you need to know to make a cast of characters so human, dynamic and diverse that they will leave even you, their creator, surprised by what they do next on the page. This is going to be a lot of fun and the tools you gain in this class can be applied to everything you write from now on. Let's rev up those story engines.
