Have a great concept for film/TV? Great, but that’s just the first step in the long journey from script to screen. Trying to develop a project that is ready to present to investors is an art form in itself. For most indies, you start with a screenplay, create a realistic schedule by doing a breakdown, then create a budget to show investors. At the same time, you're crafting a business proposal - your plan for how the movie gets made. Who is on your creative team - have they had previous success? What is your plan for ROI - how you will sell the film? is there a market for your film - how will you find an audience? Who do you want to cast - will they put butts in seats? And how will you mitigate all the risks involved in the process to ensure success? Many projects don’t make it pass stage one because creatives often don’t have the business essentials needed attract a financial backer. It's show BUSINESS. Join us this EDBI, as our panel of indie production experts give the do’s & don’ts of breakdowns, schedules and budgeting, as well as development in general.
