Covid-19 Guidelines

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It has spread around the world and is prevalent in the United States. We are in a pandemic. The pandemic has affected all aspects of daily life, including work, travel, trade, tourism, food and financial markets. Our way of life has temporarily changed and we must meet those demands in order to move forward.

To reduce the impact of COVID-19 outbreak conditions, Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) has set a list of guidelines to follow from CDC and OSHA recommendations. The purpose of the guidelines is to reduce specific exposure risks, sources of exposure, routes of transmission, and other unique characteristics of COVID-19 for independent contractors and employees while working at ATLFS.

Maintaining a Healthy Work Environment

ATLFS is committed to maintaining a healthy work environment. ATLFS Management will be monitoring state and local public health communications about COVID-19. ATLFS understands that it will take a team effort to reduce the COVID-19 risk in the workplace. The company must take certain precautions. There are four main areas discussed in the ATLFS COVID-19 Guidelines: Use of Face Coverings/Hygiene, Social Distancing, Sick Workers and Cleaning.

Use of Face Coverings/Hygiene:

  • ATLFS requires that all staff, creatives, interns, volunteers and contractors wear masks/face coverings while inside the workplace.

  • All staff, creatives, interns, volunteers and contractors must practice good hygiene. Everyone MUST wash their hands frequently – after sneezing and/or coughing, before eating, after eating, when touching multiple surfaces, etc. ATLFS will have hand sanitizer available, disinfectant wipes and restrooms with access to soap and water

Social Distancing:

  • CDC Guidelines recommend a minimum of six feet of social distancing to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Please honor those guidelines in the workplace. ATLFS Staff will have designated markers to show 6 feet of social distancing and will keep all doors open, when possible, to increase airflow.

  • Per CDC Guidelines, ATLFS requests that all staff, creatives, interns, volunteers and contractors do NOT shake hands or hug when together. Please practice another form of greeting/comfort in the workplace.

  • ATLFS is committed to using technology for virtual meetings and classes to promote social distancing, whenever possible.

  • ATLFS encourages minimal travel and exposure to crowds, if possible, while working at ATLFS.

Sick Workers:

  • ATLFS encourages sick workers to report symptoms, stay home and follow CDC guidelines.

  • ATLFS will perform temperature checks when in-person. Anyone with a fever will be asked to go home.

  • Per the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, ATLFS may require workers to take a COVID-19 test prior to entering the workplace. ATLFS would cover the costs for the test, if necessary.

  • ATLFS provides a “Comment Box” for anyone who wants to share comments/concerns.

Cleaning:

  • ATLFS will have a cleaning service deep clean the workplace facility, when necessary.

  • ATLFS will provide access to soap and water, tissues, trash cans, and hand sanitizers.

  • ATLFS will have disinfectant wipes on-site in the workplace. The facility will be sanitized regularly.

  • ATLFS encourages all staff, creatives, interns, volunteers and contractors to clean their areas.

  • All microphones will be cleaned regularly.

  • ATLFS discourages workers from using each other’s phones, desks, offices, or other work tools and equipment, when possible.

Facts About COVID-19

  • Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

  • Some people who get COVID-19 experience only mild illness; however, the virus can cause severe respiratory disease and death.

  • The CDC believes, at this time, that symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure.
