Tiara Luten
Tiara Luten is an award-winning filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. She is a lover of travel, museums and 90's R&B music. Tiara's artistic projects in creative writing, cinema and abstract expressionism, are threaded together by the desire to forge ahead on the spiritual path of the journey within one's self. This "yellow-brick-road" motif, along with her love for epic storytelling, have led to her creative and scholarly work in writing and visual art. Tiara's main focus is the craft of immersive, fictional world-building and creating complex characters.
Holding a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master of Arts in Film & TV from Savannah College of Art & Design, Tiara has directed eight short films. She recently wrote the upcoming psychological thriller, Hi John, which was filmed in the UK. Tiara's award-winning thesis film, GODDESS, is an Afrofuturism ode to mythology, womanism and fantasy. GODDESS took audiences on a wild ride through the fictional land of Yonetica in the fifth dimension - where women rule everything. Her film and creative writing endeavors have afforded her the opportunity to study abroad in Wroxton, England for two consecutive years. Tiara also received a "Best Director" nomination from the Atlanta Women's Film Festival for the sci-fi political short titled, Transmission.
As a self-taught abstract painter, Tiara uses her work as art therapy and moving meditation.
