Alexxiss S. Jackson
Alexxiss S. Jackson is a Director of Photography and Adjunct Cinematography Professor at Spelman College. She is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild/ IATSE Local 600, the Society of Camera Operators (SOC), and the International Collective of Female Cinematographers (ICFC).
Alexxiss has served as Director of Photography on narrative features, commercials, branded content, docu-series, music videos, and more; including work for entities such as Vogue Magazine, Sony Pictures, MSNBC, Google, Uber, BET+/Tyler Perry Studios, VH1, and Kroger. She has worked as a Camera Operator on projects for Hulu and Vice News, including the Emmy®-awarded series, The 1619 Project.
Alexxiss was selected for the 2022-2023 American Society of Cinematographers Vision Program. She served on the Cinematography Jury for the 2022 Atlanta Film Festival. Alexxiss has appeared on panels such as "Women Behind the Scenes" at the 2019 Atlanta Cine Gear Expo. She was spotlighted on Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls in 2018 and was also invited to speak publicly at TERMINUS Conference + Festival that same year, where she presented the seminar “Cinematography: Crafting a Look with Lenses and Filters”, which was very well received. Alexxiss has also spoken on several other panels, podcasts, radio interviews, etc; not only about cinematography, but also what it’s like to be a woman of color in the film industry.
