In this series of introductory film classes, 30-year industry veteran, Producer Linda Burns, gives students the answers they need to begin their journey into the world of film and television. ATLANTA, GA (October 10th, 2023) — The Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) is pleased to announce the lineup of films for the fall edition of its ongoing screening series Locals Only: Not for the Faint of Heart. The eight films selected come from over 40 entries. They highlight October’s theme of locally produced short films under the thriller, horror, suspense, or mystery genres.
ATLANTA, GA (April 12, 2023) — Today, the 47th annual Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) announced this year’s festival's special award recipients. The recipients will primarily be honored at the IMAGE Film Awards Gala at the Fox Theatre on Sunday, April 23rd.
On Tuesday, March 7th, we were devastated to hear that the Atlanta Lyric Theatre has shut down after 42 seasons. Not only is its closing a loss for our vibrant industry, it is also an indicator that if left unchecked, the crisis in the theatre and arts sectors caused by the COVID-19 shutdowns will continue to ravage our community.
Atlanta, Georgia — The Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Grants for Arts Projects award of $20,000.

ATLANTA – Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) was awarded a grant by Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), a strategic arm of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, as part of its initial disbursement of grants for fiscal year 2023. A total of 213 organizations were awarded 253 grants that provide more than $3.1 million in funding to arts organizations throughout the state.
