We all love watching movies - it truly is our favorite pastime. But many of us have also wondered what goes into making these movies? Even with the gigantic budgets, star actors, and exquisite sets, the basic fundamentals of filmmaking don’t change. In fact, they’re the core fabric to making a film work.

This crash course on directing discusses some of those basics that everyone can apply to their films, no matter the size or budget. We will be learning subjectivity, dramatic irony, camera placement, working with actors, and other important components for directing a film.

This class will be taught by Asad Farooqui, director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. For a full instructor bio please click here.

ATLFS offers a maximum of 2 scholarships per class offering and is awarded on an as-needed basis. Scholarships cover 100% of the cost of registration.

Please note that this scholarship is intended for Black Filmmakers and Students.
