The Atlanta Film Society is a membership-based 501(c)(3) arts non-profit with a mission to lead the community, both locally and worldwide, in creative and cultural discovery through the moving image. The Atlanta Film Society also presents the Academy Award® qualifying Atlanta Film Festival each spring.

CineCamp ATL is back for 2024! This program, from July 8th - 19th, is designed to cultivate an interest in filmmaking from pre- to post production through hands-on youth education for rising 9th-12th graders.

In this online version of Shot by Shot: Directing Workshop, we dive deep into cinematic language to give you the tools to translate written beats into dynamic, moving, memorable, visual moments on the screen. This skills you learn in this workshop will be your secret weapon in your quest to create movie magic.
Set in Fremont, CA in 2008, DÌDI (弟弟) takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through a young boy’s last month of summer before starting high school. It is an ode to the joy and chaos of adolescence including developing one’s first crush, fitting in with a new group of friends, and navigating the perfectly crafted AOL instant message and MySpace profile. Inspired by coming-of-age classics like STAND BY ME, THE 400 BLOWS, and LADYBIRD, the film adds a unique layer to the genre through the lens of a Taiwanese American boy from an immigrant family.

ATLANTA, GA (October 10th, 2023) — The Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) is pleased to announce the lineup of films for the fall edition of its ongoing screening series Locals Only: Not for the Faint of Heart. The eight films selected come from over 40 entries. They highlight October’s theme of locally produced short films under the thriller, horror, suspense, or mystery genres.
