Linda Sherbert
Linda Sherbert is an award-winning writer and former instructor at the University of Georgia, Emory University, and, most recently, Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta). At SCAD, she was a professor of dramatic writing and taught screenwriting, playwriting, a short film narrative lab (graduate level), the art of story, and other courses including Improvisation for Writers. Linda studied improv at Second City, National Critics Institute at the O’Neill Theater Center (in residence) and other professional theaters. She incorporated improv in her dramatic writing classes for almost 25 years. Linda has toured as a stage comedy artist, and in 2023, performed her comedic one-woman show on opening night of a theater festival in Washington, D.C. She is the former producing director of the Woodruff Arts Center’s 14th Street Playhouse and served on WAC’s President’s Council. Linda has directed actors, including Tony Award-winning talent. She was an editor-writer on staff at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta magazine, and Veranda (2004-2012, New York’s Hearst Magazines). While editing at night in the Style department of The Washington Post, Linda earned an MFA in Drama at Catholic University. More recently, she completed the post-graduate program in Professional Screenwriting in the School of Theater, Film & Television at UCLA. Linda continues to write and study under her UCLA instructors. She serves as a script doctor for film, theater, and TV pilots in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.
