Atlanta Film Society Announces Grant Award from Fulton County for 2017

Fulton County Board of Commissioners Shows Continued Support for ATLFS

ATLANTA, GA — As this year comes to a close, the Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) is excited to have been awarded grant support from Fulton County Board of Commissioners through the Fulton County Arts Council and Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture (FCAC) for 2017.

The mission of ATLFS is to lead the community in creative and cultural discovery through the moving image. While the Atlanta Film Festival is the primary operation of ATLFS each spring, the organization heavily relies on funding from grant support, sponsors, patrons and members for year-round programming such as workshops, mini-festivals, industry events and film screenings.

"Fulton County has been a huge supporter of the Atlanta Film Society for many years," said ATLFS Executive Director Christopher Escobar. "We are honored that they have once again chosen to entrust us with this funding so that we can further benefit our community through the media arts."

The Fulton County Arts Council and the Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture serves as Georgia’s largest county’s funding agency to support cultural programs and the agency which provides services to Fulton County based nonprofit arts organizations. The mission of the FCAC is to insure all citizens’ access to the arts.
